Success Requires No Apologies...

When this article was originally published life was just a little bit different. The way of doing business was different and the mindset of those in business was different. Based on what I have learned since I originally wrote this article, I felt the need to dig into the archives and revisit this little piece of commentary. In my original article I indicated that, "Today we are bombarded with get rich quick offers. These offers tell us that we can be overnight/internet sensations if we only buy a particular system." I also stated that, "I am a firm believer in entrepreneurial enterprises. In fact I would have to say that being your own boss is probably the most satisfying experience a person can have. However, before you decide to jump on the "I'm Rich" bandwagon I suggest that you do the research."

However what I did not know then that I know now has made the difference in eating crackers and cutting steak. I was focusing on the wrong things. I was focusing on statistics, wisdom and knowledge as it pertains to the entrepreneurial world of business. What I should have been focusing on was the how as opposed to the why. If you allow me to update my thoughts I would be much obliged.

Yes the rumors are true becoming an independent entrepreneur seems to be the story of the day. This new found wisdom seems to be making a lot of people very wealthy, or if you prefer rich. However there are a couple of caveats that one has to keep in mind. In a nutshell one has to understand that just by joining an organization doesn't necessarily mean that you will be rich. The idea is to choose a career that will really work for you. One that you truly enjoy and don't mind sharing with others. Being involved with something that is a constant uphill battle can be very disappointing.

The next on the list is getting with a good mentor that offers you training, training and more training. As an entrepreneur in business you never want to stop learning. The world is forever changing so it should be assumed that your business would change as well. My suggestion to this problem would be to find a reputable professional that offers a proven system that works. You also want to make sure that their business is part of a legitimate sales organization. The reason for this can be summed up in the old cliché, "Here today gone tomorrow." Organized, reputable companies have marketing plans that are proven to work. This is what makes them worth the time and effort. Think about it. Without proper marketing and being unable to attract prospects your business will undoubtedly fail.

Last but definitely not least is to learn how to create your own presence that will brand "YOU." What does that mean? It means that you have to learn to market yourself. Prospects may be interested in your business but at the end of the day, it is "YOU" that they are buying not really the product. The success of you business is completely up to you. However if you refuse to use the proper tools that are needed to build your business than it should be assumed that you are planning to fail.

Study, read, learn, do your due diligence. You can "Get Rich Quick" but I suggest you do the research. Napoleon Hill may have said it best when he said, ""Success Requires No Apologies. Failure Permits No Alibis."
